Location was excellent as staff were in their assistance to all our needs.
Pillows on the beds sucked, they were like a piece of foam rubber.
Upon arrival the staff could see that we were not that comfortable driving in Rome, so when they offered to park our car - we really appreciated that. All the staff were helpful and friendly and there was plenty to choose from at breakfast. The room was comfortable and clean. Within walking distance to the Colloseum and 2 metres to the tube/underground.
We arrived by rail at 10 am and check in is not until 3pm. We had a room by 10:30 am. They also invited us to eat breakfast and held our bags while we waited for our room. The breakfast each day was great. The front desk was very helpful and spoke fantastic Englisth.
They have free wi-fi and it frequently lost signal. I only list this as a complaint because email was the only way our family had to get in touch with us since our phones did not work in Italy.
Very helpful staff and located right next to the metro station. Perfect location and excellent hotel. The price of the room included breakfast everyday which was convenient and offered more than I expected. I would definitely stay there again next time I go back to Rome.
Very helpful staff. I walked everywhere to major city sites. Rooms are clean but small typical of European cities. Very nice breakfast. Location a bit sketchy a night time for single women.
Things were clean and it was a comfortable place to return to after a full day. The staff were willing to assist at any hour.
The breakfast was average. And I wouldn't call the staff "friendly or warm" (in contrast with our other accommodation experiences). One or two were cordial at most but the rest fairly officious.
The hotel was located near Roma Termini which was convienient for transportation
The staff were really great, informative and progressional and always friendly. The rooms were nice and breakfast was good, location was excellent.
the room was great as was the service very clean
Upon check in the man at the front desk was abrupt & not pleasant (I had a feeling he was simply filling in for a break as when I mentioned the annoyance to my husband he went to the desk & was greeted by another & very helpful gentleman and this great service was experienced the rest of the stay. The restuarant food was not good & the service was slow
Surprised by the balcony in a single bed room. Staffs are friendly and helpful as well.
Long stair from ground floor to lift lobby.
We were on a pre-cruise one night stay before boarding our ship. Convenient for the Rome metro and only 1 stop from Main Railways station (Termini) which connects the airport and the cruise port of Civitavecchia. Hotel is within walking distance of main station if you have a map. There are restaurants and bars close by and it is a pleasant 10/15 walk to the Colisseum. Rooms were comfortable and the buffet breakfast was good (for Italy). Reception was helpful and tourist information is available from the hotel lobby.
Its not very clear which exit to take out of the metro. Maybe the hotel description could indicate this.
Lovely old-style hotel run by a family. Staff were really nice. Would stay there again.
Metro just outside the door but area around bit run down.
Extremely friendly and helpful attitude of all staff at the front desk. Free wi-fi with no complications with access codes and passwords. Good TV and program selection. Excellent scrambled eggs and espresso coffee at breakfast. Located right beside Vittorio Emanuele Metro station. Good restaurants within walking distance. Free wine tasting event was very agreeable. Free bottle of Prosecco to recognize that we had spent our honeymoon in Napoleon 40 years before was a very acceptable gesture.
Variety of breakfast food not comparable with best hotels. Some decor seemed very old and showed signs of wear. Lift system was rather slow.
Chose the hotel because it was close to the metro and shopping. Close to the Colosseum with some restaurants and a grocery store nearby.
Pictures of the hotel would lead one to believe it was rather upscale, at least 3 stars - not hardly. Area is rather seedy, mostly tourists and foreign vendors hawking on the sidewalks or running the shops. I did not want to go out at night. On check in, had to wait for two tourists to book their bus tour. Room was in the back (again). Wall unit a/c. Went to the bar (7pm) to get something to eat. No one working and one cheap guy smacking his food so loud I could not stand to sit in the same room. A guest was picking at the piano after 10pm - loud - I could hear it in my room. Breakfast was horrid. Cold scrambled eggs and some greasy meat - sausage, bacon, and something else (I did not try it). Had to ask twice for coffee (request only). Fruit and cereal with some dry, day-old pastries. Staff seemed to completely ignore customers.
Hotel Napoleon was a very comfortable stay in a busy and hot city.
